How it works at the register
- 1. Enter the sale amount. Wampei shows a QR code (or a shareable payment link) for it.
- 2. Your customer scans it with a wallet that holds the stablecoin you ask for (USDC on Polygon by default) and pays you directly.
- 3. The payment is confirmed on-chain in seconds and lands in a wallet you control.
Register is opening as a pilot: we'll work one store at a time, with real transactions and a defined trial window, and we want you to tell us what's missing.

Questions operators ask
Is this legal for my business?
Wampei is a technology provider: payments go from your customer's wallet to yours, and we don't custody your funds. You remain the merchant and are responsible for selling only what's legal where you operate. We're happy to walk your counsel through how it works.
What happens with chargebacks and returns?
A confirmed payment can't be reversed by the buyer, so chargebacks don't apply to this method. Returns and refunds are still yours to handle the way you always have.
Do my customers need a stablecoin wallet?
Today, yes — customers pay from a wallet that already holds the stablecoin you ask for, and there's no card-payment option on this flow. Customers paying from an outside wallet also need a small amount of the network's gas token. Early usage will come from customers who are already set up, and we'll say more about this during the pilot.
What if a stablecoin loses its peg?
Stablecoins like USDC and USDT are pegged to the dollar, but a peg can break. You choose which stablecoin you accept, and you can move funds out when and where you choose.
How does Wampei collect its fee?
Wampei never takes custody of your balance. To collect its fee, we use an authorization you grant when you start creating payment links. In practice it's only ever used to pull the disclosed fee, but the permission itself is technically unlimited for that token, and there's no self-service way to revoke it yet — we'd handle that manually if you asked.
What does it cost?
The pilot rate is a flat $0.50 per transaction, charged to the merchant — no percentage, no rolling reserve and no monthly fee. We'll confirm pricing with you before you take a real payment. Use the savings calculator to compare it with what you pay today.
